Hey, you have to admit, so p&p are completely unbalanced and really hard to play.

if you have a good GM, and you know how to play, the weakest character in the group is usually the most fun to play, cause you have to actually think about what your gonna do, as opposed to just using the same abilities/fighting techniques as everyone always does, such as the cliche Fireball spell in D&D, every mage uses it, and they always seem to some how know perfect geometry so as to not hit their allies, lol

that seems anti-role playing to me, players should be rewarded for creativity, not just for have dice that roll well, chance rolls are important but the role playing is more so, i believe.

Well, you have lots of ways of making the rolls better.
Later in the game you have have read so many books and got so many skills that no mater what you roll you will succeed or do max damage.

It takes awhile to learn something, and while doing that you are out fighting tons of monsters.
And you can add as much rp as you want.

i know, D&D runs much the same way with most GM's, the GM's i like aren't rule nazi's, and reward creative playing, i've always just liked that more

I'd probably start 40k if I knew I'd have an opponent. I'd be completely lost though, I hear it's considerably different.
